From Lawyer to Romance Author

Ann began writing a few years ago after retiring from legal practice. As she said in her first WWR interview, Ann has always enjoyed writing--all aspects of it, from legal briefs to opinion letters. Nowadays, she writes about the career she once had, from the perspective of lawyers falling in love.

A romantic at heart, Ann has always found herself focusing in on the love stories in her reading and movie watching. She admits, "I love the movie A Few Good Men, which is a terrific drama about the military justice system.  But I consider it one of the greatest love stories never told, because I'm positive the Demi Moore and Tom Cruise characters are falling in love over the course of this case."

What else but romance could she write with such a strong bent toward love?

Her characters are true to life. In Trouble, her hero Mike is "smart, funny, and...sexy--and he has a heart of gold." But he's also "a little arrogant, and a little dogmatic...."

She brings a very mainstream feel to her African-American characters, giving readers people to love and a hero and heroine to root for. Our very own WWR reviewer called Ann's first book, Trouble, "quite a book," saying, "It's a story of family loyalty, self-sacrifice, hot sex, and suspenseful action." (Read WWR's review of Trouble.)

Ann's career is steadily rising. Her first sale, Trouble, is being followed by another book for Dafina titled Risk. This book is currently set for a Febuary 2007 release.

About Ann Christopher's Books

Trouble is a July 2006 release from Dafina.

Attorney Mike Baldwin meets law student Dara Williams at a party and the chemistry is undeniable. Yet Dara is his younger brother's date, and soon she's an intern at Mike's law firm. Mike doesn't want to betray his brother, and Dara is afraid to trust Mike with her heart. Is there a chance these two can find love?

Risk is a February 2007 release from Dafina.

Thirty-four year old attorney Angela Dennis' life has imploded and she finds herself pitted against her dead brother-in-law's younger brother in a custody battle for her orphaned niece. Former college basketball player turned personal trainer Justus Robinson has wanted Angela since he met her ten years ago, when he was just seventeen. Angela doesn't like risks, but Justus will risk everything to have his chance with her.

Ann has also sold two books to Harlequin's Kimani line.

Ann says, "These books are lighter and funnier, the heroines are older and more experienced, and they're both revenge tales."
