First published in 2003, Lucy Monroe has already established herself with romance readers around the world. Her writing is strong and vibrant, and her characters are no less unique. Imagine growing up near the Oregon coast, walking on the beach, sharing those moments with your closest family. If you can do that, you can imagine part of Lucy's early life. An adventurous nature led her to try skydiving as a teenager, and later, she traveled the world.
Lucy hasn't always been focused on her writing career. Using her background in political science and management, she ran a successful management consulting business. Once she had children, she left her business behind to become a full-time mother, but she kept her skills sharp with volunteer work.
She admits that it took years for her to complete her first book, but her publishing history and list of upcoming releases proves she's conquered whatever troubles she faced during that time.
Five years of serious writing led to the call in September 2002, but her road to publication wasn't always smooth. Lucy faced tough criticism from contest judges. As she's said herself, she "write[s] Rocky Road in a vanilla world." Judges either loved her work, or hated it. She had moments where she wondered if she would ever sell her books, but she persevered. "Don't give up," she advises other writers. "Period. You cannot guarantee success, but you can guarantee failure...by quitting." Lucy knows what she's talking about. She didn't give up, and now we're lucky enough to share in the lives of her characters and visit the worlds in which they live.
"I have no idea what the future holds," Lucy says, "but I do know that the story doesn't end here. I've just started on this incredible journey...."

According to Lucy, Seducing Tabby is a humorous, light story "with an underlying emotional theme." However, she says Married for Revenge is "one of those blatantly emotional stories that I love writing for Presents...Tara is a woman who absolutely does not trust tycoons. When she discovers her reluctant trust in Angelo is misplaced (or appears to be), she feels betrayed and wonders if their marriage can survive the revelations that have come to light." Her readers are sure to love both books!
