"I absolutely LOVED this book."

Mark Steele is a soldier that goes away to war thinking the woman he loves has fallen out of love with him. What else is he supposed to think? She didn't even bother to show up to see him off as he is going away to war. While fighting in the war Mark is injured in battle and loses all of the men he feels responsible for. After his physical wounds have healed, he turns to the FBI and becomes an agent.

Unbeknownst to him at the same time Mark was leaving to fight in the was, Claire was on her way to the airport to accept his proposal and tell him she is pregnant, when she was involved in a horrible accident that leaves her blind and even worse makes her lose their baby.

Dr. Claire Kos has fought her way back to a normal life, without the man she loves. After all, how could he want to be with an imperfect woman? She is filled with self doubt and blames herself for the loss of the baby she wanted so very much. And even though she is a very successful psychologist and radio personality, she believes that Mark deserves much, much more. She has kept the secret of the lost child for the whole time they have been apart, trying to save him the pain. They are thrown back together when a serial killer starts calling in to Claire's radio show and Mark is assigned the case. He finds out about her accident and the blindness that is the result, but she still refuses to tell him about the baby.

I absolutely LOVED this book. It is a story of two people who love each other so much they let their self-doubt keep them apart. Him thinking she doesn't want him because he isn't worthy of her love, and her thinking he deserves better. Added to the romance the suspense makes for a exciting and heartwarming read. I can't really say enough about this book. It is one of the best I have ever read, and I have read a lot. If you enjoy romantic suspense, do not miss this book, you will love it!

Mark Steele had been her whole world. Now he was simply an FBI agent working on the Midnight Murderer case.
