"Their love really shines in this book..."

It's Fall in the Big Apple, 2058. A time for fall celebrations, but one in particular Halloween. In this book, the series connects with white magic and black magic. Eve is facing a cop killer and a soulless wanna be priestess. But there is a dangerous one lurking behind the scenes.

The murders are quick and skillfull, and disguised as ritual murders. You get to see a side of Eve that is softer in some parts, and when it comes to protecting "her" Roarke, she'll not be pushed aside. Their love really shines in this book along with her caring heart for others as well. Their love making goes from rough to gentle in the blink of an eye.

This story shows the many facets of cultism in a fashion that makes it easy to see how some are drawn in innocently. When Eve's life is in danger from being too close to the cult, Roarke steps in and charges to her rescue. But as always she tells him she would have been fine, then clings to him until the police arrives.

Another aspect of this book is the friendships. They're growing for Eve, a woman who is so used to being alone, and she's beginning to see what life is about with people in it. We also see her new life evolving. The passion is in here as much as any other of the J.D. Robb series books, but finally with a brief glance she is learning that all people aren't bad.
