It's Christmas time in New York, and murder is top on a madman's Christmas todo list.
Eve is facing a new murder investigation after a few weeks off due to her injuries received in the last case she broke. This time the murders are getting too personnel for her to handle them in her own mind. She is tracking a psychotic killer with a Santa fixation, and it's becoming clear to her that a Christmas song is taking on a all too real turn into reality for one person.
While unlike most people who shop before Christmas, all happy-go-lucky Eve would rather be shot. And, she's trying to work a murder investigation while conquering her much dreaded hate of shopping for thoughtfully gifts for her loved ones. At one point, she's stumped on what gifts to buy and who the murderer could be. And, she's juggling a husband with a ferocious appetite for sex with holiday parties he's expected to attend.
This book cumulates with Eve figuring out the puzzle and balancing shopping, parties, murders, as well as, satisfying her wonderful husband. There's a lot of romance in this book, along with the murders.
The story will hold your attention. The romance factors in with the season very well, and the love Eve feels for those around her grows immensely. Roarke and Eve's loving in this installment of the series is hot and steamy, but it's more loving than just hot passion. And whether or not it's just the season or the way they're always going to be together, who knows? You barely have time to catch your breath from one interlude to the next!
I love all books in the "In Death" series. And each book gets better and better until after awhile you begin to feel like they're a part of your life or family. Each book leaves you wanting more....
