"...an exciting rollercoaster of emotion that you don't want to miss!"
Kate Walker's The Married Mistress is an exciting rollercoaster of emotion that you don't want to miss!
Starting when Damon Nicolaides appears in the shadow of Sarah Meyerson's London home until he flies her back to their once-shared Greek island, The Married Mistress leads your emotions through the ringer. Confusion began the two's marital downfall enflamed by a father-in-law who refused to accept that his son married his enemies' grand-daughter...but love prevailed.
While I don't normally like the strong, sometimes overbearing hero in a Harlequin Presents/Mills & Boon Modern Romance, I totally fell in love with Damon. He had the classic looks of a Greek God, but he also had the right amount of sweet emotion to make you feel sorry for him when he thought Sarah had betrayed him. Likewise, Sarah presented a wonderful heroine. She was strong, but also a bit helpless to her feelings where Damon was concerned.
By the end of the story I wanted to kick Aristotle Nicolaides' rear for being such an old goat and manipulating Sarah into believing that not only had Damon betrayed her by only marrying her for a piece of land she'd inherited but that Damon was actually having an affair. While it turned out that Damon had originally went looking for Sarah with all the intentions of acquiring the land her grandfather had refused to sell to Aristotle, he fell head over heels for her and married her in secret. His love, though he never once in the story admits that it's love, was worth more to him than the revenue joining his two hotels with an expansion over her inherited land would give.
I truly enjoyed this story and read it all in one sitting. It was fast paced and I couldn't wait to see what happened when all the misunderstandings were worked through. I'd recommend that anyone who enjoys a good rollercoaster ride read The Married Mistress.
